we've been spammed!
how nice of vanessa to want to get us listed in more search engines! this is actually only the 2nd time we've gotten an email like this--we're feeling a little neglected.

new furniture sure is hard work
auntie laura wrote to say how our new furniture is just perfect, color-wise, for us. we do look pretty darn cute on it, that’s for sure. byrdie’s in charge of subtle shedding (she’s working on complete coverage of all the furniture); i’m in charge of clump shedding (intended to fool our crazy woman into thinking she’s picked all the hair off because it’s just so much more visible). this seems to be working. don’t tell on us.

hello cousin chloe!
our crazy woman told us all about how she helped auntie em find you at the humane society yesterday. we tried to snag your photo from their web site so everybody could see how beautiful you are, but we couldn't find it. hmph. ooh! our crazy woman says you're a smoke and you have a lone ranger mask like me! woohoo!

what a ruckus
first, there's all this noise, and everything disappears. then today there's more noise, and new stuff appears (i think i'm going to look pretty good on this). this is definitely my color (and byrdie says this is hers).

something's not quite right...
we're not sure what's going on, but this isn't right.

happy birthday, auntie laura!
we think auntie laura is having birthday tuna without us, but that's ok because we feel kind of bad: we didn't make her a quilt...but we did make her a photo album! woohoo! it's full of pictures of, well, us!

what do i have to do?
seriously, what do i have to do to get a little attention around here? i was sitting in the wrong bedroom window, crying my little heart out, when our crazy woman got home tonight. was she concerned? did she think anything was wrong? did she rush inside to see what was the matter? no! she just thought i really wanted to talk to her. when she finally came inside (why did she have to cut those weeds down tonight? huh? what was she thinking?), she smooched anna. and then she asked anna where i was...i was trapped in the bedroom! that's where i was. hmph. although, you know, now that i'm out...it was kind of nice knowing anna (a/k/a bully girl) couldn't beat me up.

woohoo! i'm 1 too!
birthdays are the best! auntie laura loves me just as much as she loves byrdie: she made me a quilt too! we had tuna delight this morning (yum!), and then i opened my present (tissue paper is just as tasty as tuna, you know), and then byrdie snuck behind my quilt, so i had to jump on her. we got streamers, too, but our crazy woman took them away when she realized all we were doing with them was eating them. i tried for a dignified birthday photo like byrdie: this one's it.

more names
we have these cousins: henry and jake. and i'm sure they're nice and all, but, well, they're dogs. and i'm sure it would be really nice if we named our baby brother after one of them, but, well, they're dogs! my mama katie has a couple of good suggestions (oliver [ollie!] and toby), so they're on the list. she also suggested oscar, which we really, really like, but auntie emily's already got dibs on that name. if you're wondering where stumpy joe came from, we saw it on the back of a cd and thought it would be fun to scare people with ("have you met our brother, stumpy joe?")...we probably won't call him that...well, at least not every day.

nap time
we like napping...until our crazy woman flashes bright lights in our faces. that's just mean.

official 1-year portrait!
i'm going for a more dignified look. how'd i do?
